Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Astropilot(s), a product of DONO Studio LLC (“DONO Studio”, “we”, “us”), collects when you use astropilots.app, why we collect it, and the choices you have. Using the service means you agree to this policy and to our Terms of Service.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us

• Your birth date, birth time, and birth place, which we use to calculate your chart.
• Any messages you send in the chat.
• Your email address and basic Google profile (name, profile photo) if you choose “Continue with Google”.

Information collected automatically

• Device and browser type, approximate location derived from your IP address, and pages or features you use.
• Usage and event data through Google Analytics, and an anonymous account identifier stored by Firebase Authentication so your session persists between visits.
• Approximate coordinates for the birth place you enter, obtained from a geocoding lookup.

Information from third parties

• Subscription and payment status from Stripe. We never receive your full card number.
• If you subscribe through the iPhone app, the status of that subscription from Apple: the product, its dates, whether it renews, and a number that identifies your Astropilot(s) account to Apple but not you. We never receive your Apple payment details.

2. How we use your information

• Generate your reading and power the follow-up chat.
• Create and maintain your account and saved readings.
• Process subscriptions, billing, and refunds.
• Measure and improve the product, diagnose errors, and prevent abuse.
• Respond to your questions and comply with legal obligations.

3. AI processing of your reading

Your reading and chat replies are generated using Google’s Gemini API. To do this, your birth details and the messages you send are transmitted to Google for processing. Google states that data submitted through the paid Gemini API is not used to train its models. We do not use your personal information to train any model of our own.

You can also use Astropilot(s) inside ChatGPT, an app from OpenAI. If you connect it, you sign in with your Astropilot(s) account and we give ChatGPT a token that lets it request your reading and send your questions to us. The birth details and messages you type into ChatGPT are processed by OpenAI under its own terms and privacy policy, and are also sent to us to produce your reading. We receive your readings and messages, and ChatGPT receives the readings and answers we return. We do not receive your other ChatGPT conversations. You can disconnect the app in ChatGPT at any time, or email us to revoke access on our side.

4. Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe, which acts as an independent controller of the payment information you enter. We store only the result of a transaction (such as whether a subscription is active), not card details. See Stripe’s Privacy Policy.

If you subscribe through the iPhone app, Apple processes the payment under its own terms and privacy policy. We store only the result: whether the subscription is active, and when its current period ends.

5. How we share information

We share information only in these cases:

• Service providers that run the product on our behalf: Google and Firebase (authentication, database, hosting), Google Gemini (reading generation), Stripe (payments), and analytics and hosting providers.
• ChatGPT (OpenAI), only if you connect the Astropilot(s) app there, as described in section 3.
• Legal reasons, when we reasonably believe disclosure is required by law or to protect our rights, users, or the public.
• Business transfers, if the service is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

We do not sell your personal information.

6. Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. Anonymous sessions and the readings attached to them may be deleted after a period of inactivity. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time by emailing the address below; we may retain limited records where required for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention purposes.

7. Your choices

• Request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of your personal information by emailing us.
• Opt out of Google Analytics using the Google Analytics opt-out add-on or your browser’s privacy controls.
• Sign out at any time to end your session on a device.

If you are in the EEA or the UK, you have rights under the GDPR including objection and restriction of processing, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. If you are a California resident, you have rights under the CCPA including the right to know and delete, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them. We honor these requests regardless of where you live.

8. Cookies and local storage

We use browser storage to keep you signed in and to remember your progress, and analytics cookies to understand how the product is used. Blocking these may break sign-in or saved readings.

9. Children

Astropilot(s) is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Security and international transfers

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Our service providers process data in the United States and other countries, which may have different data protection laws than yours.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above, and for material changes we will provide a more prominent notice.
